Family law practice
Kaitlyn Monck is a California family law attorney who has exclusively practiced family law throughout the Greater Sacramento and Bay Area regions since becoming licensed. Her practice encompasses a broad range of family law matters, including dissolution, prenuptial and post-nuptial agreements, child custody and visitation, restraining orders, adoptions, and termination of parental rights. Kaitlyn brings a practical, compassionate approach to family law, with a particular appreciation for the complexities that families face during periods of significant transition.
Education and advocacy
Kaitlyn earned her law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where she worked full time while completing the evening program. During law school, she participated in the Homeless Advocacy Clinic, representing individuals experiencing homelessness and advocating for clients seeking Social Security disability benefits and restraining orders. Her commitment to hands-on advocacy was recognized with the Outstanding Student Achievement Award.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Kaitlyn began her legal career as a paralegal before transitioning to the nonprofit sector, where she served as a Housing Director for an organization supporting women and children experiencing homelessness. Her experiences working in both the legal and nonprofit communities have shaped her perspective on advocacy and strengthened her understanding of the real-world challenges facing individuals and families navigating the legal system.
A grounded perspective on family law
Kaitlyn is passionate about the practice of family law and the opportunity to help clients navigate some of the most personal and consequential legal issues of their lives. She brings a grounded, client-focused perspective to conversations about family law, drawing on both her legal experience and her background in community-based advocacy.
Outside the office
Outside of her legal practice, Kaitlyn enjoys playing volleyball, baking with her sourdough starter, and tending to her garden.
